Any type of rail vehicle regardless of tire size must run Open class.
Cut tires will NOT be permitted to run in the D.O.T. tire classes!
Example: Boggers with the small lugs removed will only be permitted in the Open class!
RULES:
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- All participants must supply their own vehicles. Proof of ownership may be required.
- All drivers 16 or 17 years of age must have a parent or guardian present, in person, to sign a release form.
- The Jefferson County Fair reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries. The Jefferson County Fair reserves the right to limit entries. All management decisions are FINAL.
- Each vehicle may run in a maximum of 2 classes and may only run once per class.
- To be permitted into the pit area or on the track, all persons must sign a waiver of liability and receive a pit pass at the pit entrance. Pit fees are $20/person. Registration is $10 per class and will be held at the Track Office.
- All drivers must be registered by 6 pm. A drivers meeting will be held at 6:30 pm, the show will begin at 7 pm.
- All drivers and passengers must wear a seat belt, helmet, long pants, a shirt, and boots.
- Drivers are not allowed to have more than 1 passenger.
- All vehicles must have working brakes on all four wheels (if utilizing pinion brakes they must be on both axles). Any open or soft-top vehicles must have a roll bar. Vehicles may be subject to inspection to verify the safety of brakes, steering, tires, body construction, etc. prior to start of show.
- A fire extinguisher within reach of the driver is strongly recommended.
- All vehicles must have a place to hook the tow chain to (hitch, tow hook, etc.) The Jefferson County Fair Authority and its officials are not responsible for any part of the vehicle damaged when pulling out of the mud pit.
- If the tow chain breaks free from the mounting point, the driver of the vehicle must re-hook the tow chain.
- If a driver does not make their call for lineup, he/she will forfeit their run and their entry fee.
- Drivers must maintain their vehicles within the boundary lines of the mud bog for the entire duration of the run. Anyone going out of bounds will be disqualified.
- No drinking of alcoholic beverages is permitted on the fairgrounds. Vehicles may be searched before entering the pit area. Any driver or person in the pit under the influence of alcohol or drugs will immediately be disqualified and removed from the fairgrounds without refund.
- Any driver or crew member disobeying the rules will cause his/her vehicle to be disqualified. Speeding and reckless driving in the pit area, to/from the track, or on the track will not be tolerated. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and will be grounds for disqualification and barring from future events. Drivers are responsible for the actions of their associates and pit crew.
- Contestants are not employees of the Jefferson County Fair Authority. The Jefferson County Fair and its officials will not be responsible for any damages caused by driver’s negligence on the track or in the pit area.
- The Jefferson County Fair Authority will not be held responsible for any vehicles, parts, or personal property before, during, or after the event, or overnight.
- ALL DECISIONS MADE BY TRACK OFFICIALS ARE FINAL!!!
